Hello! We are Flora and Rosie, sisters and joint owners of Cafe Biagiotti.
We proudly serve genuine and authentic Italian food from our bustling Highland cafe. We are so passionate about what we do, and we have our mum to thank for that! We spent many of our family holidays in Barga, a remote Tuscan village where our mother grew up, and this began our love affair with Italian food and coffee.
In 2016 Rosie travelled to Italy for six months where she worked in bakeries and restaurants. She finished the trip with a month-long pasticceria course run by a world renowned Italian pasticceria chef. When she returned, the opportunity arose to occupy a building in our local village, Beauly, where we grew up. Flora was working as an accountant in Aberdeen at the time, and Rosie as a Land Manager in Inverness but we decided to leave these jobs and follow our dream of owning our very own Italian coffee shop and pasticceria.
In August 2017 we opened the doors of Cafe Biagiotti.
Customers often ask where the name Biagiotti comes from – this photo is of Iolanda Biagiotti, our great grandmother, and her husband Augusto.
The photo was taken in Venice on their honeymoon in 1925 and takes pride of place in our cafe.
